There were a lot of great insights and questions to consider. Everyone involved agreed with the sentiment that we’re hoping this forum will be the beginning of a long-term dialogue on diversity and inclusion in Oak Park. Thanks to everyone who presented and attended.

Rental properties with fewer than eight units may be eligible for forgivable loans of up to $5,000 per unit. General property repairs, unit upgrades and energy efficiency improvements are types of eligible improvements.

An informational meeting for property owners will be held on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at 7:00 pm in the Council Chamber at Oak Park Village Hall, 123 Madison Street, Oak Park, Illinois.   Feel free to contact us at 708 358 5410 or housing@oak-park.us if you have any questions.

The Oak Park Regional Housing Center is looking for volunteers to help us with a variety of tasks including our website, front desk reception and intake. If you are looking for a volunteer opportunity, please stop in and ask for a volunteer application or email us at info@oprhc.org.

We ask that volunteers commit to at least a 3-hour commitment per week for at least 8 weeks . Knowledge of Oak Park is useful. We currently need volunteers for the following times:

Tuesdays: 9am – 7pm

Wednesdays: 9am – 2pm

Thursdays: 9am – 4pm

Fridays: 9am – 2:30pm
