Housing Center Takes a Lead in Promoting Regional Equity Efforts

This first meeting included elected officials from the western suburbs and discussed the need to ensure that HUD and other federal agencies invest in activities that will foster sustainable and inclusive communities. The Housing Center’s mission and programs are recognized as a national model to be considered in these efforts. These meetings are part of a collaborative effort between policy and grassroots organizations in the region and across the country.

Key elected officials indicated an interest in joining the effort. Foundations have shown an interest in learning more. The Housing Center will be working with its partners to continue the momentum and be following up with events and details on initiatives in the coming months.
